Soon Time for Presents & Pampering

Even though the unusual weather patterns are affecting people the world over, enjoy this pre-Christmas period and all it has to offer. Autumn is a time of golden falling leaves, crisp (if a little chilly!) bright mornings, spectacular sunsets, roasting chestnuts, bonfires and late blooming flowers. It is a great time to give yourself a boost and prepare for the onset of winter. On those fresh, feel good mornings when you wake up to a rare burst of sunshine, wrap up and go outdoors and enjoy all the pleasures of being in the fresh air.

A perfect time of the year for country walks, seaside promenades, heading for the hills and taking in some city sights. A more pleasant time than summer to do all these and more, as the skies are not too bright and the temperature not so hot. Even better it's not yet quite the time for all those winter woollies, boots, hats, scarves & gloves – it's a chance to chill out and enjoy spending quality time with friends and family, before the real winter weather arrives, and everything that brings with it!!

Remember the days gone by when gifts were made by Dad or Grandpa, dolls clothes knitted by Mums and Grandmas, covers and linen for the dolls pram sewed by hand and scooters and sledges were made from wood and bits of metal found lying around.

So many crafts are declining in this modern age of automation and technology so why not think about what you could do to take you and your family back to the good old days. Come on Dads, Grandads, Brothers, Uncles, Mums and Grannies – get those fingers and D.I.Y. skills working and start making toys for the boys and goodies for girls! Imagine their delight when opening a gift especially made by you just for them. It doesn't even have to be for a special occasion – delve into the garage, go through old linen drawers, look in the sewing box for scraps of fabric – you'll be amazed what you find and what you can do for those special people in your lives.
