What's the difference between 3 ply yarn and worsted weight yarn ?
Weight refers to the thickness of the yarn.
The 3 ply yarn is a light weight, sometimes referred to as a sport weight that is usually used for baby items.
Worsted weight is a 4 ply, medium weight that is the most popular, sort of the "all purpose type of yarn.
The ply is the number of "strings" that are twisted together to make one strand of yarn. So 3 ply has 3 strands that are twisted and 4 ply has 4 strands.
