I made some convertable mittens to match my mobius scarf.
Pattern: The “Mom Mittens” from the Mitten Wardrobe article in Spun Magazine, Issue 4.
Yarn: Noro Silk Garden. Two balls.
Needles: Size 3 clover bamboo DPNs.
Started: November 12th 2006.
Finished: November 16th, 2006.
I love them! I desperately needed mittens. These were knitted with small needles so the fabric is very dense. I messed up the right “glove” part of the mitten.
I didn’t believe the directions and so didn’t follow them. I didn’t add enough body stitches after I was done with the ribbing, and then I didn’t follow the directions correctly for making the thumb. So I was left with not-enough stitches when it came time to making the fingers. So the pinky kind of sticks out like an afterthought. The left glove worked out better since I followed the directions correctly.
Incidentally, I think I have talked myself into reknitting my mobius scarf. ugh!

Wow, how cute and what a quick knit! I don’t think the instructions suggested this, but you could make a little yarn loop at the tip of the cover, and then sew a button to the ribbing. Then, when the cover is flipped back, the loop can go around the button so the cover isn’t flopping all over the place. I hope that made sense. If not, I can e-mail a diagram or something.
What mods are you going to make the the scarf? What the rolling driving you crazy?
