Embroidery Thread Polyester

Brother se-350 problems with embroidery thread. Please HELP!!!?
my wife just got her new se-350 sewing machine and was trying to embroider one of the built-in designs from the menu. she's using a 40 weight polyester embroidery thread on the top and the white bobbin embroidery thread that came with the machine in the bobbin. she tried to do a name on a onesie with black for the color but it came out with the white bobbin thread on the design. the whole name, not just part. it used just a little bit of black at the beginning that you can't even see unless you look at the back. please help. she's dying to use it. thanks
we did try a new needle. she isn't using backing or adhesive. she thinks maybe the problem is with the tension setting. any ideas? thanks
A onesie is usually made up of a cotton knit that stretches. You first need to use a lightweight interfacing (The iron on kind in the area you want to put the name. This will prevent the fabric from stretching and and make it easier to embroider on. Then you need to use a stabilizer
on the back also. Since a onsie if flimsy, try a medium weight stabilizer. You can also try to use more than one layer of a stabilizer.
I use a medium tear away on most things, but you can also use iron on or some of the water soluble ones. Just be sure to really rinse away the stabilizer or else the embroidery will be stiff. I hope this helps you.
