I finished Opptuna over the weekend, AND knitted up some baby booties, too! I used the 1 hour baby booties pattern in stitch-n-bitch nation. It really only did take one hour to make both of them. I love me a quick knit. I love the way Opptuna turned out. So sweet and frostingy. And so small and cute. Here’s a closeup of the booties.
While I was at the lys I couldn’t resist buying some kid mohair. Judy is making Ultra Femme from SnB Nation and has been tempting me with her Colinette mohair. I’ve been eyeing it and thinking that, perhaps, that cute little tunic, To Dye For in SnB would be really cute. So while I was at the lys buying buttons I happened upon the mohair section and found some that was soooo soft. so I just went ahead and bought it. I casted on for the sweater Saturday and am already about halfway done with the back. Yep. I loves me a quick knit.
Have a good week, everyone!

I took a break over the weekend from both Lucky Clover and BBBB to make Opptuna, an adorable baby pullover from CTH II. I have wanted to make this since I saw that adorable baby in the picture. I just thought I would make it for my own baby that I plan to have someday. It turns out that the old intuition was cranking away because my SIL is pregnant (hence all of the baby knits around here). So I decided to buy some more Plymouth Encore and knit this up for my new niece, who will arrive in August sometime. Heh heh. I can’t believe my husband’s bad ass ex-skate punk little brother is going to have a girl
. Makes me smile whenever I think about it.
I chose this really saccharine-sweet colorway. Doesn’t it look like frosting? (this picture is washed-out. Hopefully my next pic of this will be better). It’s a little too sweet for my taste, but nice for a little baby girl. I was hoping I would have it done by now but, again, that old job just keeps getting in the way of my knitting! I am hoping to get it done by this weekend and then I will knit some baby booties to match. Then I will finish BBBB because the shower is May 7th. Then I will be free from all of this baby knitting and I can move on to me knitting.
Speaking of me knitting, I have a new addition to my yarn stash, as well as my book collection. I saw ms. Harlot’s book on the shelf at my lys and couldn’t resist buying it. And while I was at it why not pick up some silk garden, too? I had a good excuse…I haven’t really been able to find this colorway online and my lys had it so I figured I should buy it on the spot or else I might lose my chance….or something like that. So this will eventually become Gloria from Noro Knits. But more on that later.
