Here is the quilt top that I was telling you about in my previous post. I made it using the “Peas and Carrots” charm pack I bought at Long Beach. I’m not sure what to make of it. It’s a little bit busy. I think this was the wrong charm pack for this pattern. But I’m going to keep going with it. I am going to order some fabric for the backing from the same line and some batting and then my next adventure will start, the actual quilting process. I have no idea what I’m doing. It should be interesting.
Here is my progress on Audrey:

I’m getting there! Hopefully I will finish the sleeve this weekend. We’re going camping so there will be knitting by the campfire.
Have a fantastic weekend everyone!

Here are some pictures of the Striped Border Scarf from Victorian Knitting Today that I promised. I meant to post these last week but didn’t get a chance. This past week has been BUSY at work. I’ve been having to read a truckload of books for a 5th grade audience so my time has been taken up by that mostly. THANK GOD I will have my book talk tommorrow and will be done with 5th grade books for awhile. One can only take so many.
But enough of my bitching.
Pattern: Striped Border Scarf
Yarn: Kidsilk Haze for one. Suri Elegance for the other.
Needles: Size 7 Denise.
Click here for the Ravelry entry for the Alpaca version of this project. (let me know if you can see it
) And here is the Kidsilk Haze version on Ravelry. I decided to knit these up for Mother’s Day presents. The second one knitted up very quickly. I think I had it done in a week. The pattern was very easy to memorize.
I can’t say enough good things about this Victorian Lace Today book. I LOVE it. I can’t wait to get to my next project for it. I am going to knit the Syrian Shoulder Shawl next.
Audrey is coming along. I’m still on the first sleeve. It seems to be taking forever. Maybe I need some more vacation driving.. yeah that would be wonderful!
Oh, and I started on one of my quilts last weekend. I am going to try and finish the top of it today so I will get pictures up to show you.
Have a good Monday!

I went to Portland and Long Beach, WA this week and got back last night. Hence, I had lots of car-knitting time and I got quite a bit of Audrey knitted. I am 20 rows away from the front (or back). And then it’s on to sleeve island.
Not much to say about that. It all seems to be going okay. I did mess up the darts the tiniest bit on one of the pieces but not enough for me to rip and re-knit. I think it will look fine.
Oh. My. God. I went a little crazy with my MIL at this wonderful little quilt store in Long Beach. It’s Called Anna Lena’s. They had the most adorable kit of retro cowboy prints that I HAD to have. I also picked up a book that the owner of the store wrote. It’s called Bundles of Fun and it has patterns for quilts made out of fat quarters. I thought this might be a good beginner book since I’m still such a newbie.
That was the first day. I decided to go back the next day to buy some charms.. They are little 5″ squares of each fabric from a line. Then, of course, I had to buy a pattern for a quilt made from these charms since I’m kind of clueless as to what to do with them. But they were just so cute! I had to get them! I can’t wait to get started…

I can’t believe how long it’s been since I’ve posted! I had a plan to take some pictures of my Victoran Lace Scarves that I have finished but I don’t know if that’s going to happen. Why you ask? It’s because of 1) This:

Ravelry! It’s the best thing ever for knitters. Boiled down, its a social networking site for the knitting community. Don’t you think it’s about time we had our very own? Not that the entire web doesn’t work for us, but Ravelry is perfect for us knitters. Not only can you connect with others with your interests in the knitting community but you can use it as a place to store all of your project info, your stash info, you knitting book library. The librarian in me is overjoyed! I love it! So go join up! And then add me to your friend list!
I think at this point they are inviting people on an e-mail list. So to sign up you have to give them your e-mail and then they will send you an invite.
2) I’m on vacation this week but I am having company over. My inlaws will be here sometime today so I am going to be very busy. In fact, I should be cleaning my house right now.
On that note, I better take off. Hope you all are doing well. See you soon!
