Sunrise Circle Jacket

Sunrise Circle JacketI’ve got to say, it feels so good to have another F.O. Here is the finished Sunrise Circle Jacket.
Pattern: Sunrise Circle Jacket. Shown in the Spring 2006 issue of Inteweave Knits and found here for free. Design by Kate Gilbert.
Yarn: Rowan Summer Tweed. In the colorway, “Shark.” I used 10 hanks.
Needles: Size 3 (!!!) addi turbos. I had to really go down in needle size to get gauge. I have no idea why and it bothers me. But it worked. I don’t recommend knitting this yarn on small needles like this. It nearly killed my hands.
Started: Feb. 8th 2007
Finished: March 15th 2007.

Sunrise Circle Jacket. BackI’m so glad this is done. I like how it turned out, for the most part. I didn’t sew on the buttons in the right positions because it is bunching up at the bottom. I will fix that. But it actually fits very well! I’m not a big fan of knitting with this yarn. It wears really nicely. It feels nice and it is a a good weight. It will be a nice little jacket for summer. The fabric seems to breathe really nicely. But knitting with it was hell on my hands (as another blogger put it). I couldn’t knit this for long periods of time. The combo of the yarn and the small needles made it difficult.

But, all in all, I do like it and I think I will wear it often.
