Pinwheel Baby Blankie
I finished the Pinwheel Baby Blankie that I was making for my brother in law and his wife. It went kind of fast and seems like a bit of a stealth knit. But here are the specs:
Pattern: Pinwheel Baby Blanket. Designed by Genia Planck. The ruffle idea and instructions came from Hello Yarn’s website.
Yarn: Plymouth Encore Colorspun Worsted in the Candy Cane colorway. I think I used 3 balls.
Needles: size 8 Denise. These were nice to use since I needed to continually increase the length of the cable as the blanket increased in size.
Started: November 27th 2006
Finished: December 30th, 2006
My last F.O. of 2006! I finished the knitting on this on the 30th and was lazy about blocking it. I really like how the self-striping turned out on this blanket. And I really like the ruffle, also. I saw a few of them on the internets and knew I needed to do this also. This was a really easy and quick knit. It really only took a few days. I put it aside for a long time to finish up Christmas knitting. Once I picked it up again after Christmas it went by very fast. It ended up about 37″ wide. It doesn’t seem like it’s very big and if I had more yarn I would have made it a bit bigger. But I really didn’t want to go out and buy more yarn for this project. And I think it will be fine for a baby. It’s a nice relaxing knit. Stockinette all the way. With a bit of increasing thrown in there for good measure.
