Butterfly in the grass

August 28th, 2006

Butterfly in the grassNot much to say about Butterfly. Been there, done that. Knitting the small size this time so that it will fit. Am currently working on the right front panel. I am on vaction this week and we are going back over to the coast on Wednesday (W00T! Yay for the ocean!). Road trip, baybee! That means lots-o-knitting time. So I will most definately bring Butterfly with me to work on and finish. So I can move on with my life and to other things. I have MAJOR gift knitting to get to and I feel like I am procrastinating it. I mean, can you believe it’s going to be September in a few days? Christmas will creep upon us before we know it!

Um. Yeah. That procrastinating thing.
Softest scarf

It’s going to be a Purl Scarf from the book “Last minute knitted gifts!” I saw my pal Judy’s and was inspired to make my own with some stash yarn. I am using some “Steadfast Fibers Wonderful wool” held together with Kidsilk Haze and some other mohair that I can’t remember the name of. So soft and pretty. I’m deciding if this will be a gift for someone for Christmas.

Speaking of inspiration. . .

Log Cabin square
Okay. I am not a regular reader of the blog “Wendy Knits.” However, every once in awhile I will surf on over there to see what she is currently knitting. Not long ago I saw that she was knitting up a Log Cabin Blanket out of scraps of sock yarn. I thought it was a fantastic idea! I love “Mason Dixon Knitting” (the book that is the cause of all of this log cabin knitting craziness on the web). I’ve already checked it out from the library twice. So I give props to them. We’ll see how far I can stand to go with this sock yarn blankie, tho. I might just very well get bored and stop. But I’ve been trying to figure out what the hell to do with my scraps of sock yarn. I can’t bear to throw it away!

That is all from this little corner of internets. Take care! and have a wonderful week.

That IS a great idea about the sock yarn… I don’t read her blog regularly either, so I missed that. I have several yarns in the stash that would look great in that form ;)

Have fun at the shore!! and knit knit knit on the lovely Butterfly!

Lovely scarf. i’m glad to hear that you’re restarting on the butterfly jacket. you will be happier in the long run. I also like the log cabin square. It seems like a huge project to me, but it’s also so portable for most of hte project that it would make a great “waiting in the doctor’s office” project or “riding in the car,” etc., etc. (I’m really coveting the knee high socks from your last entry, btw.)
