Clapotis is a wrap
July 24th, 2006
I’m sorry. I couldn’t resist.
Pattern: Not that you don’t already know, and that you haven’t already knit it, but it’s Clapotis from Knitty’s Fall 2004 issue. Designed by Kate Gilbert.
Yarn: Koigu Painter Palette Premium. Four hanks. Colorway 305.
Needles: Denise size 7.
Started: July 1st, 2006
Finished: July 22nd, 2006
I did end up adding two repeats of the straight row sections. And it wasn’t too bad. I just knitted it in the long car ride on our vacation. It was nice mindless knitting.
I am VERY pleased with how this one came out! I really, really love it! I think that lighter weight yarn is the ticket with this pattern. For my first one I used a worsted weight yarn and it just ended up being to heavy and uncomfortable for my taste. The fingering weight yarn knitted up on a larger needle gives it a nice light feel. Yet it is warm. Which will be wonderful in the fall and winter, and maybe even in spring. But when it is 103 degrees out like it was when we took this picture? Not so much.
But the Purple month of July is not over and I have another yummy project I’m working on. Feast your eyes on this Artyarns Silk Ribbon project:

oh yeah. that’s what I’m talking about.

I think the clapotis is very pretty, and a fantastic color. I also really like the ribbon yarn project. Good colors.

Such a beautiful smile, Moni!!!
Yeah! It’s done! I totally agree with you about the lighter weight scarf. I had the same experience and totally love the lighter one. Great job. Are we going to have another sequel? ; )
