new beginings

Loll beginningsI called the cable company today to transfer my internet service over to my new house. Our service is being shut off tomorrow. The cable guy isn’t coming to our new house until JUNE 7TH! shit! I guess that means I need to post. Which is a good thing. Because I have stuff to talk about.

So this is Loll. From the Rowan Calmer brouchure. I bought this yarn at Communknity last year on a whim. ahhh. and a lovely whim it was. Can you believe that Calmer has been sitting in my stash this long? I can’t. For it is the most loverly yarn to knit with. so soft. so, well, calming. And I’m loving the pattern so far. It’s just challenging enough to hold my interest. To be honest, I think I was feeling kind bummed out about knitting the past few weeks because I’ve been knitting on my husband’s slytherin scarf. b-o-r-i-n-g. I don’t know if I will ever finish that thing. ugh. Loll has kind of put a bit of spark in my knitting again.

Oh, and I decided to knit this project this month because it is blue! and you know what that means…Blue is June’s Project Spectrum color of the month. um, yeah. I am starting early. I can’t bear the slytherin scarf any longer.

little bagSpeaking of Project Spectrum, I made this adorable bag as a gift for my Sister in law’s b-day. It’s from “Last minute knitted gifts.” The yarn is a spare ball I recieved from Andrea (thanks Andrea  ). Isn’t it pretty? She said that it’s bamboo. There is qute a bit left over, too. definately enough for another one. I love it!

Oh, I forgot to take a picture of my latest book purchase. I was wandering around in this awesome little shop here in Spokane called Boo Radleys. Well, I didn’t have to wander around to find my purchase. I walked in the door and it was staring me right in the face. There was a table display of various knitting books in the “stitch-n-bitch vein. But then I saw “subversive cross-stitch” and I knew I had to buy it. I bought a “Happy Fucking Holidays” kit a couple of years ago (still working on it). totally love it. I mean, this is something I would have come up with if I was in the right place in the right time. The book is awesome. I totally want to do a nice little “rat bastard” cross stitch and send it along to my realtor.

Well, I suppose I will see you all after June 7th. sigh.
