A couple of things and a happy Thanksgiving

November 23rd, 2005

Made with 1 skien of silk gardenHere is the Silk Garden hat I was telling you about in my last post. I made it with one skein of silk garden and I used Stephanie’s pattern. It’s a quick knit. Only took a day or so to knit it up. It’s a nice pattern for those last minute Christmas gifts. I made several last year for Christmas, so many that I got sick of the pattern. I got this skein of Silk Garden by guessing that Simon LeBon was Heather’s favorite member of Duran Duran, a few months back. Thanks for the yarn, that led to the cozy, pretty hat, H!

Closeup of the cables on my scarfHere is what I’ve been working the past few days. A lovely, soft baby alpaca scarf. I am not really using a pattern. I just picked a cable stitch that I liked in this knitting book that I have and went for it. I will give more details about it when I am done. So far I am really liking how it’s turning out! It will be nice and cozy warm.

The word of the month is cozy, apparently.

And finally, HAPPY THANKSGIVING to all of my knitblog grrrlz out there! Enjoy your turkey or tofurky or whatever you may eat for dinner.

Love your finished Blackberry. I’m making it for the same reasons - I want a really cozy knit. The hat looks great too. Can’t lose with Noro!

I like the blog design - very readable. I understand how much time that takes.
