Treading Water
What you see in the picture is the extent of my wips. Notice how the lace kerchief scarf looks smaller? yeah, I frogged it and started over mid-week. As I said in my last post, I messed up the increases. I thought I would be able to compensate by just keeping on with them until the piece measured 41″, but the width was starting to bug me. It was getting too wide. So I frogged it and started over, with needles one size larger. I think it will drape better, knitting it in a larger needles size. I have to say, tho, I am getting kinda sick of this knit. It was supposed to be a quickie and, look, I’ve been knitting on it for two weeks now! You will also see the neckband for the Lucky Clover wrap. This has been mind-numbingly boring to knit, but every once in awhile I will get the urge to just get this f*cking thing done and knit on it while I’m on a car drive or watching a moving. One of these days it will be done and all of a sudden I will have my Lucky Clover Wrap and I will be sooooo stoked. I saw a sweater in Nordstrom the other day with this very clover lace pattern, so I’ll actually be styling.
You will also see in the picture that I started a sock. The yarn is the Opal yarn I bought a couple of weeks ago. I was dying to start knitting it up so I could see how the pattern would work. Well. This little f*cker has been the bane of my existence the past week. I have frogged and restarted this stupid thing three times! And I still have a messed up pattern (see picture). So I am going to just put this thing down and return when I am done with a few other things. It’s irritating me too much.
So, I bought some yarn yesterday…I’m on a pink and green kick lately (blame it on the Artyarns). I mentioned that I bought some cute pink-pinstriped pants at Bannana Republic, I also bought an adorable light pink top from there Saturday to go with them. So I’ve been thinking about pink and green with regard to upcoming knits. My mom and I stopped by JoAnn’s fabrics yesterday and they had a smiggen of Cotton Ease left. This green was pretty much all that was left in any quantity. So I bought some for the Apricot Jacke in last summer’s issue of Rebecca. I think I will start on this next. (I WILL finish Lucky Clover first, tho, dammit).
I also found this pretty yarn and thought it would be lovely for a lightweight scarf. So I bought a couple balls and thought I’d try it with the spiral scarf in Loop-de-Loop. Well see how that works.
That’s all from this little corner of knitblog land. Hope you all have a wonderful week!
