A sock and Harry Potter
August 1st, 2005
I finished the first Chutes and Ladders sock. AND, since I am officially not working for a couple of weeks, and Mr. Blacksheep is out (going for his last long hike at Big Basin National Park), I have decided to spend the day knitting and reading Harry Potter (in between bouts of packing, of course). I am on page 50 of H.P. So far, so good. Snape is a Death Eater, huh? hmmm. Interesting.
As for the sock..Clearly this is not the right yarn for the pattern. You can’t see the cute Chutes and Ladders cable pattern. But I will just go ahead and knit the next one, at some point. At least I will have two skiens of this Knitpicks sock garden yarn out of the way. On the one hand, it is very soft and comfortable. On the other hand, the colors are awful. Just awful. At least they will be covered up by shoes.
Well, I better get going. Gotta pack up my Kitchen. Hopefully I will post next a finished Chickami tank.

Your sock is pretty. It did take me a couple of times to discover that a pattern does look better in a more subtle colorway or in one color.
