Happy Mother’s Day
Happy Mother’s Day to all of you mothers out there!
For my mom and my MIL I knitted up this little scarf that you see here out of the Crystal Palace Party yarn that I got on Tuesday. Since this is technically an FO, I will go ahead and give the specs and put it in my FO gallery. Gotta chalk it up doncha know.
Pattern: Party Scarf, available for free at Straw into Gold.
Yarn: Crystal Palace Party in Fall Herbs. 1 skien.
Needles: Clover bamboo size 13.
Finished: May 7th, 2005. (this took about an hour or two to knit).
Here is a closeup.
Very quick and easy pattern. I was able to knit up my Mom’s and have it in the mail by Thursday. I really like this yarn, too. It’s a very nice ribbon yarn. It would make a nice tank top.
I finished a few things this weekend. As you can see here I also finished the back of my Chai pullover. This was my “at work” knit this week and I got a lot of it done while doing my e-mail reading, waiting for web pages to load, etc. It’s amazing how much knitting you can accomplish while waiting for various things. I’ve also taken lately to knitting while waiting at long stoplights, too. Or waiting at the metering lights to get on the freeway.
I love knitting with this yarn. It knits up into a very lightwieght fabric. It’s going to be a nice springy top when I’m done with it.
And, finally, I finished the left front of Lucky Clover. I so wanted to get this done so I spent hours and hours yesterday morning finishing this up. I seemed like it took forever, but I finished it and it’s blocking now. When I finished it I started to panic a little when I looked at the schematic. My front looks nothing like the front in the schematic. Well, it looks a little bit like it, but it seems really long…So now I’m worried that I did this all wrong. But I am soooo not going to reknit this thing. I am going to finish it as I am supposed to and have faith that I am doing everything right. This is turning out to be a very challenging knit, I think. There really is just so much that you have to keep track of so you really have to pay attention to what you are doing. It’s easy to get lost. I think the sleeves will be a bit easier since there is very little shaping. Thank God. I will be glad to have this finished. It’s not that I’m not enjoying it or anything, though.
Well, I gotta jet. I have a lot of stuff to do today since I spent so much time yesterday finishing lucky clover’s back.
