Sundby’s Done
February 24th, 2005
I skipped excercising this morning to seam Sundby. It turned out to be a really, really lovely sweater. As you can see, it’s blocking for a day or two. I will get a modeling shot when it’s done. I’m hoping that the angora in the sweater will bloom a little more after washing. The angora in the yarn makes it look uber-feminine. And so does the ribbing. Why? Because the sweater is, er, very body hugging. The problem, see, is that I’m really self consious. I have, er, kind of large breasts. And the ribbing really accentuates them. So, this is a good thing for my husband, and a not so wonderful thing for me (being that I’m self consious).
This ribbed sweater, body hugging, situation is making me re-think one of my current WIPs, Audrey. Again, another lovely, lovely sweater. But am I going to really like all of that body hugging ribbing? I really don’t know. I think I am going to go in search for some other patterns that I can use with Calmer, just to see what else is out there. I mean, I should knit up a sweater that I’m going to wear, right?
I bought a couple of patterns yesterday. The first one I should have bought at stitchces, but didn’t It’s the pattern for socks made with the hemp yarn that I bought. I bought enough yarn for a pair for me and a pair for my hubby. The pattern is kind of cool because it has a more lacy variation. I guess I could use a standard Zimmerman sock pattern, but I kind of want to knit up some socks using a real pattern, just to see what it feels like. Or maybe I’m just silly. Whatever.
The second pattern is for Marnie Maclean’s Erte Cloche. I *love* this pattern. I’ve been drooling over it since she first posted it on her blog. I don’t know when I will get around to knitting it, but it’s definately on The List.
Speaking of The List, here it is. Just to keep it all together in my own head:
- Finish Earl.
- Peace is Patriotic Along project
- Lucky Clover wrap
- Koigu Socks
- silk “coccon hankie” scarf (more details on that later)
- hemp socks
- “Chai” sweater
- Work on BBBB.
- Jess
- Erte Cloche
Hope you all are having a good week!

Hey Moni! Be proud of your Sundby and wear it out… show off those b**bs!
You are so organized with your little list. I need to make a list of all of the the things to knit, cause I am all over!
Did you see Marnie Maclean on Knitty Gritty this week? They showed that hat

Lolly, Damn, no I missed it!!! I don’t really have cable - I have the cheapo cable where you only get a few channels, so I don’t get knitty gritty. I’m going to see if there is anything on the website.

Sundby looks great. I love that colorway, but it’s hard to see the ribbing and angora in a flat photo. Guess you’ve got to model it to give it dimension
Enjoy wearing it.

Hi! I sooo understand your comments about your bustline and sweaters. I could have written that about myself! Fitted things look better on me, but there’s definitely such thing as too fitted, ya know?
The Sundby is so pretty, though, I’m sure it will look fabulous on you. Hope to see a picture soon.
See you around the Lucky Along…

I’m sure Sundby’s will look great on you. I WISH I had curves like yours! I understand though.. I can only wear certain things without my tummy ruining it for me, screw it
