Sundby and Earl

February 20th, 2005

©2004I’ve been diligently working on Sundby this weekend. I want to make a significant dent in her progress during this rainy three-day weekend. The front looks exactly like the back, so just for the sake of interest, I’ve photographed it with the picture of the sweater in the book. Enjoy. I started on the sleeve this morning while watching “I Robot”. For some reason, I’ve fallen asleep durning the movie twice and my husband was very adamant that it was a really good movie. He’s been talking about it all week. So I decided that I need to watch this in the morning when I’m nice and alert. I started it from the begining and watched the whole thing. And you know what? He was right! It’s a really, really good movie. I kind of want to read the Asimov book now. Incidentally, I am infamous for falling asleep during movies, and action movies at that. I actually slept through Die Hard 2 IN THE THEATER.. I have no idea how that happend. I guess when I’m tired I sleep - and it doesn’t matter where I’m at.

©2004As said, I am diligently trying to get Sundby done, and the reason is that I have joined my second KAL. It’s hosted by my girl, Lolly and it’s called:
The Lucky Clover Knitalong

I can’t believe how quickly I got my yarn for it. I ordered it from an e-bay seller named Janette, of Janette’s Rare Yarns (the same person Lolly bought her yarn from). I ordered Monday and I recieved it Thursday! It came from England. Now that is fast service. I realized when I ordered it that she was the same seller that sold me my Kochoran, and I had the same experience - FAST shipment. I was expecting it to take more than a month. So, needless, to say, I’m stoked. Anyhoo, the KAL starts on March 1st so I want to wrap up Sundby before then so I can start on the Lucky Clover Wrap.

©2004Finally, after test-driving several bag patterns, I decided to use the pattern “Earl” from the Noro Knits book. I love that bag and wanted to knit it, anyway. I think the recycled yarn will work well for it, assuming I have enough of it.

Well, that’s about it for now. It looks like the sun is peeking through the clouds so I think I’m going to go for a hike in the Redwood Forest today. Have a wonderful weekend :) .

I can’t wait to hear about your hike in the Redwood Forest… *sigh* someday, I will get there! Love the color you chose for the Lucky Clover! So nice. Your Sundby is really a stunning sweater. I had never seen the design before, and I know it will look great on you, Moni!

I hope you had a wonderful weekend!

Earl is coming along nicely! It will be so comfy and I love that dark colorway.

I just ordered again from Jannette today myself. She’s a great source for Rowan.

Lolly, if you are reading this, my walk in the redwood forest was MUDDY. I am seriously getting sick of water

I love “Earl”! I am going to have to try and find the Noro Knits book. I checked Amazon and they didn’t appear to have it.
