I’m an e-bay convert
I won my e-bay bid on the Noro Silk Garden! Woo-hoo! I am paying $75.00 (including shipping) for ten skiens. That averages out to $7.50 a skien! Wow! What a steal! Buy the way, there is lots of Noro Silk Garden to be had for a bargain on E-bay. My seller was knittingstyle. Here is the e-bay pic (Color #211):

Maybe this will save me some money on yarn? We’ll see. I’m looking forward to learning the art of spinning.
Here are some knitty books that I’ve been reading:
I found Better Homes and Garden’s Quick-n-Easy Knitting at the local Safeway while standing in line. It’s got a lot of scarf patterns and lots of crochet. Notice that the other two books, Chunky Knits and Vogue Knitting are from the library? Ahem. Chunky knits is just okay. I don’t think I will buy it. The Vogue Knitting is a must have though. I am asking for this for Christmas, and I may break down and buy it sooner. Heather, it has instructions for knitting v-necks in there! It’s a fantastic knitting reference book.
Okay…On to current WIFs. Here is my Zimmerman-esque sweater knitted with my Karabella Softig:
I really *love* this color! This, to me, is a true rose color, unlike the Goa rose. It seems to be knitting up pretty fast. Like I mentioned in another post, It’s hard to knit with because it’s so thick and the needles I’m using are huge. My hands get a little tired after awhile.
Here is what I’ve been mostly working on the past week:
Ugh! It’s the side panel for my Bertie Bag. I still have about 8 freaking more inches to go. This has been so boring to knit. And I am having a hard time not screwing up the pattern. It’s basically a modifed seed stitch, except you slip every other stitch. I guess that’s the best way to describe it. I’m getting a better grasp on it now, but It has been slow going. My goal is to try to finish this piece this weekend.
I was reading Claudia’s blog and read that she visited Artifibers in San Francisco. So I visited thier site. oh. my. God. I have GOT to go there. Check out thier yarn, Chai. I’m dying! It is so gorgeous. According to thier website (and Claudia) they will custom make a pattern for you when you by enough yarn for the pattern. SF’s just a nice scenic drive away for me (up the Pacific Coast Highway), so the hubby and I will have to make a day of it. We’ve been wanting to go to China Town and I’ve always wanted to visit City Lights Books, too. I love San Francisco and it’s been forever since I’ve been there. Fun!
