I think I’ve decided…
Okay…I think I’ve finally figured out what I’m going to do with the Softig. I think I will knit a seamless raglan sweater ala Zimmerman. I am going to try and do a boat neck (I need to figure out how to do this, though. Zimmerman doesn’t give the best instructions on how to do this). For the sleeves, I am going to do something similar to these on the Trumpet sweater (from The Girl From Auntie). I will need to figure out the knitting math to get the flare in the wrist right, but I think I’ve got it figured out. I will post more details on that when I get to that point. I think I will just knit it in straight stockinette to make things very easy and simple.
As for widow’s shawl. I got anxious and casted off today. It’s a bit too short so I will have to put her back on the needles and add to her a little. I am going to do it later. I’m sick of working with this yarn. I’ll put her in a plastic box and let her sit for awhile. I need to move on to something different.
Oh, and I should also add: I’ve bidded for a drop spindle on E-bay! I did it just now. I was inspired by reading Wendy’s blog today. She mentioned that she is thinking about learning how to spin and her commentors posted some great ideas on how to get started. It was just the push I needed to go for it. I had never before thought of ordering a spindle on e-bay, because I’m not really an e-bay person. The one experience I had 3 years ago on e-bay was terrible and I haven’t done it since. But I’m bidding on somethng from the same seller one of Wendy’s commenters suggested. So we’ll see. Wish me luck!
