Just a quick little note

I don’t have very interesting things to report by way of knitting progress. I’m still plowing away on bertie and Widow’s Shawl. I think I’m nearly done with the shawl. I will work on her tonight while watching my newly arrived DVD of Farenheit 9/11. I’ll need something to let out my agression while watching it  .

I’ve spend some time (way too much time) trying to find patterns for my Karabella Sofitig. In the meantime, I’ve discovered Karabella Patterns. Wow! Are they lovely or what? I found some obscure patterns on a couple of sites that actually call for Softig. But they are few and far between. I am really loving the Karabella patterns, though. They are really pretty and chic. I found a site, Got Yarn, that sells the one that I kind of really like a lot. Here’s a pic:

I really like it..but I think I would rather have it long sleeved. I can actually order this pattern from Got Yarn, but I have to order $15.00 worth of stuff to order online. I’ve never ordered anything from them before at all. I guess it’s probably okay. There are some cute patterns.

Howerver, I can also go with a free pattern….I really like this sweater from the first issue of Knitty:

I like it but I don’t know if Softig is the right yarn for it. You are supposed to use yarn that has some drape, and according to this review, Softig doesn’t have that much drape. And I don’t know about knitting this sweater in rose, either. hmmm.

And then there is this lovely poncho from Fuzzy Galore:

It calls for a bulky yarn, but I would also have to find a varigated thick and thin yarn to make the “spikes” (see pattern). I don’t know, though. I’m kind of getting over the poncho phase. I don’t know if I want to make another one.

Oh, and there is this really nice Trumpet Cowl-Neck sweater at The Girl From Auntie that I like, too. Actually, I really like it a lot but the pattern is for one with a 32 inch bust. I’ve got a 36 inch bust, so that won’t work. Unless I figure out how to do the math so that it will fit me. Since I’m a newbie and am very bad at knitting math, does anyone have any sites or books they can point me to?

Well, as you can see, I’m still ruminating on this one… I’ll keep thinking about it and get back to you with what the heck I decide to do :)
