update
I just wanted to post a quick update on what I’m doing. I went to visit my family in Spokane, WA over the weekend and had a wonderful time. I actually have lots of knitting news to share.
My mom and I went to a yarn store in search of some yarn and needles and a book with instructions for left-handed knitters. We found one and I ended up buying some beautiful handspun, hand dyed yarn from New Mexico:
It is really, really pretty. I think I will make a scarf with it. I was going to have my mom make a scarf for a first project, too, but the lady in the store suggested that, instead, she make a dishcloth. I thought that was a great idea! Scarves kind of take forever. So she got some really nice cotton yarn that had different shades of pink in it.
The next day, on the three hour drive back from picking the guys up from backpacking, She learned how to knit. I tried to show her, but she’s left handed and I’m right handed. I had to read the left-handed instructions and then actually try to do them to show her but it was kind of akward for me. I think she just kind of figured it out. After awhile it just kind of came natural to her and she had half of her dishcloth done by the time she was home
.
Over the weekend, I worked on, and finsished a little cozy for my iPod:
I also worked on my Widow’s shawl.
I will hopefully start audrey soon. Probably start her this weekend. I’ll put some pics up tonight. I was thinking, though, that I don’t have any pics of my mom’s beautiful dishcloth
. I should have thought of taking one. oh well.
I also had a surprise for me in the mail today. Yarn! check it out:
I almost forgot that I ordered this. I got it at WEBS and it was hella cheap! 16 dollars a bag! Can you believe it? It’s a nice, lightweight cotton yarn. I think I will make a sweater with it. I have some ideas…..
