My Gravatar

So did you notice that I got one of those cute, computer generated pictures of myself  . You can get one here at Abi-Station. And I’ve installed a plugin that turns on gravitars. So if you have uploaded your gravitar icon, and you put your e-mail in e-mail field when you leave a comment, your icon will appear with you comment! Cool, huh? If you don’t know about Gravitars, check out the Gravatar website.

Tank Girl Done

I finished Tank Girl, blocking and everything. Here are some pics of the front and back. And as a bonus, you can see my messy apartment, too! Check them out:

Note to self: wear a black bra with this tank top  . And here is a shot where you can see my face. This is the point where I was done with photo taking but my hubby just had to get one more in:

(I really take crappy photos. ugh!) Anyway, I did steam block this time, and I really liked doing it. I felt like I had more control over what I was doing. And the best thing was that I didn’t have to wait for days for my garment to dry before it was done! I took the steam iron, turned it on full blast, and then ran the steam (NOT touching the iron to the fabric) over the problem areas. It worked like a charm! I swear, blocking is the secret to knitting. It really finshes things.

How do I feel about this project? I’m not sure. I will wear it, that’s for sure. It’s comfy, and I like that it isn’t too tight on me. It kind of skims the body frame. The color isn’t the best….But not horrible. It was very, very easy, which is good.

The “Bush Must Go” mix

An ecclectic mix of music designed to get you revved up for the coming election. (this is for all of you coming from the “Knitters for Kerry” or the “Knitters against Bush” website. )
I published this playlist on iTunes. Unfortunately, it only published songs that I downloaded from iTunes. Drats! Anyway, here are some good songs that will get you pumped up for the election in November. Some of these are available on iTunes, which is where i got most of them. If they are not available on iTunes and they link to a download, the title goes to the page you can download it.
1. All You Fascists - Billy Bragg and Wilco. (iTunes)
2. American Idiot - Green Day. (iTunes)
3. Whatever happened to peace on earth? - Willie Nelson (available at Kuncinich’s site)
4. Make Love F**k War - Moby & Public Enemy (iTunes)
5. Man in Black - Johnny Cash (iTunes)
6. Testify - Rage against the Machine (iTunes)
7. Move On - Mike Doughty (iTunes)
8. The Empire Strikes First - Bad Religion (iTunes)
9. We Got The - Beastie Boys (I took this song off my iTunes playlist because it’s hella annoying. I don’t think I can listen to it on a regular basis.) (iTunes)
10. Get Up, Stand Up - Bob Marley (iTunes)
11. F**k Authority - Pennywise (iTunes)
12. Masters of War - Bob Dylan (iTunes)
13. This is my United States of Whatever (George Bush remix) - Liam Lynch (available on webjay)
14. In a world gone mad - Beastie Boys (Protest records, #7 Vol. 1 free download)
15. Jacob’s Ladder (not in my name) - Chumbawamba (Protest records #1 Vol.5 free download)
16. Move it on Over - Willie Nelson. (iTunes)

To this list I would add (but haven’t yet)
17. Fixin to die rag - Country Joe and the Fish.

If anyone wants me to burn this onto a cd I would be happy to do it. Just put a comment in below, and make sure you put your e-mail address in there so I can e-mail you off the blog and get your address.
