Blue Cardigan

I have a project that I have been working on for about a week now. It a cardigan from a pattern in the book Stitch-n-Bitch. This is my first project in which I actually follow a pattern. I have knit sweaters but I used books by Elizabeth Zimmerman. In her book, Knitting Without Tears she teaches how to knit sweaters using the EPS (Elizabeths’ Percentage System). You basically don’t have to ever knit a sweater using a pattern ever again using her system. However, I feel like I kinda lost out learning to knit with her books. So now, after reading Stich-n-Bitch, I am going to learn how to use patterns. There are lots of patterns in this book that I am going try, starting with the cardigan.

So anyway, I went to one of my local and favorite knitting shops, the Yarn and Rug Store in Capitola, and the wonderful people there helped me find the right yarn and set me up straight. I picked out this fantastic yarn that has a bit of cashmere in it. I love the way it feels in my hands. I can’t wait to wear it as a sweater! Here is a pick of where I am at on this project:
